Accreditation Eligibility
To become an accredited provider, an organization has to meet the ACCME definition of an eligible company. An eligible company is one whose mission and function are one of the following:
- Providing clinical services directly to patients
- The education of healthcare professionals
- Serving as fiduciary to patients, the public, or population health
An ineligible company is one whose primary business is producing, marketing, selling, re-selling, or distributing healthcare products or services that are used on or by patients.
