PLI is modeled after the renowned Claude Moore Leadership Institute that was delivered by the MSV from 2006 through 2011. This program included progressive topics, including training on bias, innovation, and modern leadership as a way to reimagine a new role for physicians and a new contract with society.
PLI builds upon the Institute’s success by incorporating program design and recommendations from The Physicians Foundation, physician leaders, and training programs across the nation. With a grant from the Physicians Foundation, MSV is pleased to renew its commitment to building innovative physician leaders within the Commonwealth. The MSV’s previous leadership program graduated over 100 participants, many of whom advanced to leadership positions within their profession, including (but not limited to):
- Chief Medical Officers at major health systems
- Secretary of Health and Human Resources – Dan Carey, MD
- Previous State Health Commissioner – Cyn Romero, MD
- Nine MSV presidents
