FINANCIAL WELLNESS

Thrive

Thrive supports Virginia medical students and residents on their journey toward financial wellness—free of charge.

What is Thrive?

Financial stress is the leading cause of chronic stress in the United States, and its consequences touch nearly every aspect of our lives—including our health, work, and productivity.

MSV’s mission is to make Virginia the best place to practice medicine and receive care—and that means confronting financial stress. We created Thrive to support healthcare providers on their journey toward financial wellness.

Developed by the team who established the SafeHaven® program, which provides healthcare teams support for burnout, Thrive brings financial well-being resources and pro bono Certified Financial Planners (CFPs®) to Virginia medical students and residents.

Why CFPs®?

MSV has partnered with volunteer CFPs® because they:

  • Are considered the standard for financial planning
  • Meet rigorous education, training and ethical standards
  • Are fiduciaries—meaning they are required by law to act in their clients’ best interests
