The Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) has added four new dates to its in-person informational sessions for providers on the Addiction and Recovery Treatment Services transformation: “ARTS 101 – The Basics.” These sessions provide a general overview of Virginia Medicaid and FAMIS ARTS benefit transformation and what providers need to know for the implementation of the expanded services for over 1.1 million Medicaid and FAMIS members on April 1, 2017. 

Attend to learn about Virginia Medicaid’s Addiction and Recovery Treatment Services (ARTS) new benefit program transformation! Virginia Medicaid leaders will provide updates on:

  • Increasing rates up to 400% for many of the substance use services. Some service rates are higher than commercial plans.
  • New provider requirements and new payment models.
  • Upcoming provider training opportunities on treating patients with addiction, Medication Assisted Treatment for opioid addiction, and American Society of Addiction Medicine criteria for the new services.

To register, visit DMAS online training registration at http://dmasva.dmas.virginia.gov. On the left hand menu click “Learning Network” then middle of page “Current and Upcoming Training Events” and then “ARTS 101 – The Basics”. Select the Date to Register.
