Delegate Dawn Adams has introduced HB 1817, which seeks to remove the requirement that Certified Nurse Midwives practice within a practice agreement. CNM midwifery training programs typically require less than TWO years of training where the CNM student typically works alongside and assists the preceptor, a licensed CNM. It is NOT common practice for the student to perform a delivery unsupervised. The MSV is working diligently to ensure that patients and newborns in Virginia have the highest quality care, regardless of the birth setting. Please complete this short survey to share complications that can occur during the birthing process.
