What is the “grace period”?
In July 2015, the American Medical Association and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services announced a "grace period" agreement of one year following the Oct. 1 implementation date, but Virginia physicians still need to be prepared in order to move to a payment system based on quality and outcomes.

Can I still get training?
The Medical Society of Virginia (MSV) offers two courses to help you get prepared for the implementation – two-day boot camps and one-day refreshers intended to remind individuals on ICD-10 basics.

Additional Resources
