National Health Care Reform

On March 23, 2010 President Barack Obama signed into law the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), a comprehensive health insurance overhaul that includes significant changes to health care law. Virginia’s Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli filed suit in U.S. District Court immediately after Pres. Obama signed the landmark measure into law, claiming the law represents an unconstitutional overreach of federal authority.

Throughout the health care reform process, the Medical Society of Virginia (MSV) maintained ongoing contact with Virginia’s congressional delegation and kept physician members informed of the status of this legislation.

MSV will be closely monitoring the resulting policy changes that will certainly follow in the coming months and years. MSV is committed to bringing you the information and support you need in order to navigate these changes while managing your practice and caring for your patients.
