Consulting Services

Please note that our consulting services are offered at competitive rates to individual MSV members and group practices with at least fifty percent membership. Additionally, MSV provides practice services, including access the Practice Services Helpline and Hassle Factor Log, at no additional cost to individual MSV members and group practices with at least fifty percent membership.

Documentation and Coding Assessments
A review of claims coding and medical record documentation can be performed to determine whether the practice is following guidelines from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and other payers for appropriate billing. MSV’s Certified Professional Coders conduct these assessments and prepare informative reports for the practice.

Compliance Assessments
Assistance is provided to physicians in adhering to the Office of Inspector General (OIG) compliance plan guidelines. MSV is available to initiate a compliance plan or assess the practices existing plan. Guidance on other federal and state laws and guidelines is also available.

HIPAA and Medical Records Services
All practices are required to train workforce members on privacy, security and confidentiality issues. MSV provides staff education sessions to address these areas and provide documented training for employees. Additionally, MSV assists practices with assessing and developing policies to comply with HIPAA and Virginia law requirements.
