Coding
Running a medical practice is a full-time job with today’s changing regulations, policies and insurance. Medical Society of Virginia (MSV) members and their staff have access to a variety of services from our practice management experts to make your job easier.
Members can call MSV’s Practice Services Helpline to ask questions about coding, billing, office procedures, regulatory compliance and more.
Practice Services Helpline (800 | 746-6768, ext. 1060 or
by e-mail
)
The MSV members-only coding helpline provides physicians and their staff assistance with questions pertaining to coding and documentation, general practice management issues, office policies, etc.
Providing clarity and understanding to the innumerable aspects of proper coding is a particular strength of MSV. Reviews of claims coding and medical record documentation are part of what we can do to determine whether practices are following guidelines from CMS and other payers for appropriate billing. These assessments address inappropriate or inaccurate coding, plus weaknesses in medical record documentation that may expose the practice to problems with payers. Many of our services, including access to the Practice Services Helpline, are offered as member benefits at no additional cost to individual MSV members and group practices with at least fifty percent membership. Issues requiring extensive MSV staff time and resources, such as documentation and coding assessments, are offered as consulting services at competitive rates to individual MSV members and group practices with at least fifty percent membership.
