George Mason University to host Health Care Reform Forum for Virginia Candidates

WHAT: George Mason University’s Department of Health Administration and Policy and Center for Health Policy Research and Ethics will host a Health Care Reform Forum during which candidates for Virginia’s U.S. Senate seat and Northern Virginia’s congressional districts will discuss their strategies for strengthening the U.S. health care system. Each participant will deliver a 15 minute presentation followed by questions from a panel of experts comprised of representative Mason faculty, health policy graduate students and community sponsor organizations. More than twenty diverse organizations that are interested in the future of health care reform are serving as community sponsors.

WHO: Confirmed guests include Gerald E. Connolly (Democratic candidate in the 11th Congressional District), Mark Ellmore (Republican candidate in the 8th Congressional District), Judy Feder (Democratic candidate in the 10th Congressional District), Keith Fimian (Republican candidate in the 11th Congressional District) and Virginia Del. Mark Sickles (D-Fairfax) on behalf of Rep. Jim Moran (D-Va.). Invited guests include Rep. Frank Wolf (R-Va.), former Governor Jim Gilmore (Republication candidate for the U.S. Senate) and former Governor Mark Warner (Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate). The forum will be moderated by Jane Woods who is the former Virginia Secretary of Health and Human Resources.

TIME: 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
