MSV member honored as hero in health care

The Virginia Health Care Foundation named the 2012 recipients of its Heroes in Health Care awards, recognizing individuals and organizations that work to help uninsured people. Award winners included Medical Society of Virginia (MSV) member Edwin James Harvie Jr., M.D. of Danville, who was awarded as the winner of the unsung hero-physician award for his work at the Free Clinic of Danville. Please join MSV in congratulating Dr. Harvie for this recognition.

I was happy to be able to witness Dr. Harvie's reception of the award. It was great to see a gentleman who has been one of MSV's best leaders win an award which he so obviously deserved. Congratulations!
