Health care transformation: Overcoming key obstacles to driving value
5 July 2012
The Medical Society of Virginia (MSV) is excited to offer education sessions on payment reform and improving value at this year's Annual Meeting, which will be from Nov. 1 to 4 at the Williamsburg Lodge. In this evolving world of health care, MSV is here to help members learn more about the physicians' role in payment reform and how to take the lead. Our sessions will be facilitated by national payment reform expert Harold Miller to educate physicians on how to achieve higher value care in the context of an evolving health care system and engage in designing ideas for new models.
Saturday session - Health care transformation: Overcoming key obstacles to driving value
Our Sat., Nov. 3 educational program and dialogue will be about how physicians can influence the future of health care by understanding how market trends and health reform can impact their profession and their patients. Participants will work with a variety of stakeholders to identify opportunities for collaboration between purchasers, providers, patients and payers to improve the value of health care.
During this session, participants will be able to:
- collaborate to improve value;
- work together with purchasers to control costs;
- manage care coordination to drive down costs; and
- improve patient engagement.
Take advantage of these educational opportunities to collaborate with peers and learn how to influence the future of health care. Engage in the activities to reassess and look for different and new ways to succeed in a changing environment. The discussions during these sessions will help you understand how to react to these changes and provide better patient care.
Get the most out of this session by also attending our Thursday day-long summit, Blueprint for payment reform, which will inform Saturday's educational program. Also led by Harold Miller, the Thursday event will review payment reform models and allow the participants to design their own solutions. Click here for more information.
