Medical Society of Virginia

Deadline approaches: Physicians needed for state boards

11 February 2011
Updated 25 March 2011

The deadline to submit applications was March 15, 2011. If you are interested in serving on one of these Boards in the future, please e-mail your information to healthpolicy@msv.org and we will add you to our waitlist for future openings.

Physicians are needed to apply for a number of gubernatorial appointment opportunities. The Medical Society of Virginia (MSV) has received inquiries from a number of its members for various positions. We are hoping to identify several more qualified physicians for these roles as the secretary of the commonwealth has requested we submit three nominations for each opportunity. Applications are due March 15.

Please note that while MSV is asked to submit nominees for consideration, appointment is at the governor’s discretion. To qualify for MSV's support, you must be an MSV member, be willing to serve a multi-year term and meet the state-designated qualifications for the current vacancy.

How to apply:
Click here for instructions on submitting your application for gubernatorial appointment. While applications are taken year round, it is recommended that you complete your application prior to March 15 for full consideration.

MSV support is required for some of these opportunities. If you would like MSV to support your request for gubernatorial appointment, please contact MSV at healthpolicy@msv.org by March 15. Please send a copy of your curriculum vitae (CV) and/or biography with your request for support.
