Effective now: Face-to-face encounter requirements for home health agencies and hospices

Effective April 1, hospice and home health providers are required to comply with the face-to-face encounter requirements mandated by the Affordable Care Act (ACA) for purposes of verification of a patient’s eligibility for Medicare home health services and of recertification for Medicare hospice services. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that it expects full compliance with the requirements.
