CMS to hold Medicare claims through Jan. 17

On Jan. 1, 2012, the provider payment cut under current law for the 2012 Medicare physician fee schedule is scheduled to take effect. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is instructing Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) to hold claims containing 2012 services paid under the Medicare physician fee schedule for the first 10 business days of January, through Jan. 17.
