AMA comments on HHS interim final rule for medical loss ration rules

The American Medical Association (AMA) recently sent a letter to Sec. Kathleen Sebelius at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) regarding the interim final rule implementing medical loss ratio (MLR) requirements for health insurance issuers under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. AMA worked closely with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) to develop MLR recommendations and supports HHS’s decision to adopt them in full.
