As our population continues to grow and shift more toward urban centers, and as the terrorist threat of biological or chemical attack grows, we must be ever-vigilant with regard to emergency preparedness. Pandemic flu, avian influenza and other diseases, as well as deadly biological agents like anthrax, continually make headlines worldwide.
