Electronic Health Record (EHR)

More and more medical practices are going from paper medical records to electronic health records (EHR). The HITECH Act of 2009 provided for Medicare and Medicaid incentive payments to health care professionals and hospitals that adopt EHR technology and use it to achieve "meaningful use." The Medical Society of Virginia (MSV) provides resources so that you can learn more about meaningful use, an overview of EHR program requirements and the practice impact of meaningful use.

Visit MSV's eHealth eGroup on MSV Connect to discuss EHRs with peers and post materials and resources that you believe will be useful to others. This is a valuable resource to help you understand guidelines and incentives for eHealth.
