Coordination of Benefits

In recent years, physician practice administrators have struggled with obtaining payment for physician services because some health plans will not forward payment on certain claims citing “Coordination of Benefits” (COB) as the justification for failing to pay the claim because the covered member has not completed a COB questionnaire. The Virginia Medical Group Managers Association (VMGMA) and the Richmond Medical Group Managers Association (RMGMA) have asked MSV to help them find relief for this problem, which requires extensive administrative work by physician practices to resolve.
